Effective MLM Marketing
We’ve all been there. facebook ad, google ad, poster, leaflet, twitter update..etc done! “This is it, I think my opportunity is amazing and everyone will too, this advert will do the trick”. Then after hours of clicking refresh on everything you have open online and staring at the phone…nothing!? What’s gone wrong? Chances are your MLM marketing isn’t right, let me show you a few basic rules to follow in any form of MLM marketing that’ll vastly and quickly improve your results.
Sell the Sizzle Not the Sausage
The purpose of all marketing is to create action, 99% of the time in MLM marketing the action we want is for our prospect to look, read or hear our marketing and get in touch with us for more info, right. THIS is when you provide details on your opportunity, not in your initial marketing. People buy on emotion backed up with fact. Stir up emotions with your marketing, THEN provide facts once you have the prospects ear and attention. I’m not saying lie, no way, all I’m saying is which sounds better “Do you feel you have more inside you than you’re currently showing? Wouldn’t it be great if you could finally catch a break and get help to fulfil your potential and show those you loved the lifestyle they deserve?” or “We are a 900 billion dollar company with a triple matrix system, sponsor 4 left-handed people and we’ll give you a car, in 3 weeks if you get 6 customers” blah blah blah, fact after fact after boring fact and I even put some sarcasm in the middle of it. Sell the effects of what you offer (sizzle) in your marketing, sell the opportunity (sausage) in person.
Congruence
Make sure you’re clear on the message you want to deliver with your MLM Marketing and make sure it’s the same message all the way through your marketing. Initial adverts, info you send out, the system/opportunity itself, needs to ‘fit’ in people’s minds. People will only part with money if some element of trust has been established, would you trust someone who chops and changes what they’re saying or seems to deliver mixed messages? No, you wouldn’t. The language, color scheme’s, facts used, testimonials and overall message must seamlessly flow through every stage of your MLM Marketing.
Try To Sell To Everyone, You’ll Sell To No One
Are you apple or facebook or google? No you’re not so don’t use their blanket marketing methods. Take a look back at the example I gave you in the sizzle not sausage section. That would be a sentence I would use when targeting a family man, 30 years old and above. Why? Because I know being a 30-year-old family man that’s exactly how I felt before finding MLM. If your MLM Marketing is general in its approach, it’ll create no emotional response, no connection and what we want is for someone to see your marketing and think, “yes, that is EXACTLY how I feel, I want to find out more”. Get in the mind of your prospect, what problems do they face? how do they feel about that? What would solving those problems do for them and their life? Answer these in your marketing and your golden!
Success Leaves Clues
Why when most decent companies provide masses of marketing help do people completely try to re-invent the wheel. Tens, sometimes hundreds of thousands has been spent to hire the worlds best marketers but after 2 months in the industry you decide you can do a better job using Microsoft word and clip art. Trust me, I made this mistake, got over complicated, stressed out, wasted time and money and ended up using the company materials in the end anyway. If you have time and money to burn by all means have a go, test and track your results and go from there. If you don’t, stick to the system you’ve been given, it’s there because it works.

You hit it on the nail.. selling the sizzle and not the sausage. This is what a lot of people, including myself overlook. The goal is to pique interest so that you can present your opportunity. You pique interest by “working up emotions” and by then they’ll become more interested in what you have to offer to resolve their problems! Thanks for sharing Richard!
