How To Build A Network Marketing Team – Your 1st Rep & Beyond
What’s one of the most highly appealing parts of network marketing? It’s the leveraged residual income, right!
There’s so many ways to make money in this World, but hardly any that I know of, (if any outside of network marketing) that allow you time AND financial freedom together.
Now the problem is, if everything points back to you, if you’re the only person in your team right now, and the only activity is driven by you, you’re never going to have that “time freedom”.
Think about it, the second you stop working, is the second your income and your bank account stops working.
Let’s look to change that.
I’m going to share with you some secrets on how to build a network marketing team.
How to recruit your very first team member, and then, what to do with that Team member to ensure that you get duplication, that’s the key to a successful network marketing business.

Duplication in Network Marketing
If you want to learn how to build a network marketing team, you must consider duplication.
It doesn’t matter what you and I can do on our own. It matters a little of course, but not long-term. As a human being you have a limited amount of time, and a limited amount of energy, which is sole to you.
Once that’s run out and you need to take a break, or you need to do something important, or you want some flexibility, what’s going to happen if your team is only looking at you, and they don’t know how to perform?
Now everybody says, “My teams lazy so how do I encourage duplication in my network marketing team?” One of the most important points I can recommend to you, is to lead by example.
Here’s a really powerful question to ask yourself multiple times throughout the day.
“Would I be happy with my team members doing the same as what I’m doing right now?”
See, if you can start to ask yourself that question throughout your day, you may find that you start to recruit more people.
Why? Because you’ll stop doing the activities that right now are putting people off joining you. That’s a powerful statement, think about it.
See, people are like Jedi’s. It’s funny, but it’s true. They know what you’re doing regardless of what you’re saying.
Your potential team members and if you have them, your existing team members all know what you’re doing.
You’re setting their expectations, and you’re training them how to treat you.
If you want respect, if you want them to perform the right actions, then only ever perform activities in your business that you would want your team members to reproduce and duplicate, and that’s exactly what you’re going to see happen.

How to Build A Strong Team In Network Marketing
Two words here, in learning how to build a network marketing team, and one that is strong are congruence and expectations.
It’s so demoralizing, isn’t it?
To find someone really excited, they join your team…woohoo, you’re only months away from retirement!
You put a lot of time and effort into that person, and then they drop out in the first week?!
In a way, it’s worse than them not signing up at all, because at least you wouldn’t have lost that time, and had that excitement about the possibilities.
How can you limit that from happening to you ?
Congruence is incredibly important with your activities and especially your marketing.
What expectations are you setting for your potential team members?
I understand you may have difficulties. I was 40,000 pounds in debt when I entered this industry. I didn’t just want money, I needed it, and perhaps, you do too. Be mindful about the example that you set.
See, if you’re telling people, “It’s easy and get rich quick” and “you’ll do everything for them”, then that’s exactly what they’re going to expect.
If you said you’re going to hold their hand forever, the second you get two, three, four or five team members, and you can no longer do that? What happens? Everybody gets angry, everybody gets frustrated, and it becomes a bind, not a pleasure.
Same with congruence, if you’re telling people it’s “super easy, they can just recruit people, left, right and center with a few emails”
Then, the second they join you tell them to make a list and go speak to some people, again, there’s that lack of congruence they don’t understand why you said one thing, and now, it’s another.
When you can do the opposite to other people, you’ll stand out.
I purposefully recommend to you, just like I do, to be super realistic in my marketing and with expectations. I say, “Hey, this isn’t going to be easy. I’m not sure if you can do this.” These are great questions to ask prospects, to test if they’re a strong potential team member.
You’ll see the cream rise to the top.

How to Build Network Marketing Leaders
See, you want strong leaders, who will be able to replace you.
Don’t get caught up in being needed. It’s so great when you’re not.
When you can see other leaders being cultivated and rising to the top to take over the actions that right now, you may be taking it’s magical and freedom!
Imagine if every person you brought into your team, brought a whole other network with them.
You’d never have to go and generate a lead again.
Imagine if they brought in a whole bunch of people into the team, who then did the same and did the same, and did the same and with each level another leader surfaced to support that growth!
That’s when the magic really happens, when you’re learning how to build a network marketing team, hold that future firmly in your mind.
Now, my highest recommendation for you here, is ask your self about your posture.
When people question you about your business, how do you react?
When someone’s negative about what you do, how do you react?
Another powerful question for you is, “How would I react if I was already the top income earner in my company?”
See, if you take the right daily actions, you may not be the quickest, but you can still finish the marathon and get to that top rank. You just haven’t been paid yet.
When you ask yourself that question, and you start to react and answer and behave in that way, if you’re taking the actions and the habits of a top income earner, it’s only a matter of time before you get that same result as your habits and circumstances fall into alignment.
Next time you’re faced with a challenge, next time you’re faced with a phone call or a conversation, or an online conversation, and someone challenges you or asks you a question, or wants proof of your success.
Ask yourself this…how would you behave if you were already a seven-figure earner in this industry? What would your answer be?
Chances are, when you take on that posture, you’ll start to attract the leaders who find that confidence, and find that posture appealing.
How To Build a Network Marketing Business
I promised you some tips if you’re yet to build a team at all, and here they are.
See, an important part of learning how to build a network marketing team, is being able to recruit new team members, right?
If you’re yet to recruit your first rep, here’s a couple of suggestions that I can share with you.
Number one, take what you’re already doing and inject urgency into it.
Maybe, you set up a launch or a re-launch of your team in your area, and you stamp a date in your diary for when that’s going to be. It provides urgency.
Let your existing connections know, inform them, don’t even think about recruiting them.
Learning how to build a network marketing team and talking about mlm isn’t weird, you make it weird!
If you were opening say a clothes shop. Wouldn’t you inform those you knew about your new venture without expecting all of them to buy?
MLM is exactly the same, it’s not just about them (your warm market), it’s about who they may know!
When those people feel you’re leap frogging them, when you feel that you’re looking over them, that’s a very different and powerful attractive energy.
Now, they’re no longer needed. Now, they’re no longer wanted. They will want it more.
This comes from childhood, when we’re told we can’t do something, we automatically want to do it.
Get some urgency. Set a goal for when you’re going all in and your chosen method for how to build a network marketing team.
Stick a date in the diary for when you’re going to re-launch or launch your business. Then, go over your existing connections, and look past them, and ask them who they know who’s sharp.
Who do they know that would benefit from the benefits of your product, or the benefits or your business?
You’ll find a lot will raise their hands and say, “Hang on a minute. Hands in the air here. What about me? I want to take a look.”
