Unless you’re an absolute master when it comes to MLM prospecting, just blindly calling or messaging people and talking about your opportunity is not going to work. In fact there’s only so much rejection, impolite people and no’s that anyone can take before it takes your motivation and pretty soon you begin to wonder “Can I really do this”? Don’t worry we’ve all been there. Problem is an inexperienced upline might just give you the advice of simply “speak to more people” or they might not understand they possess much better skills in prospecting than you and you just can’t get their tactic to work. One of the easiest and best ways to have far more pleasant and productive prospecting activity is to look for common ground or what I call “Legitimacy of Contact”. You see what you must avoid at all costs is appearing like a sales person, that’ll get a negative response as I’m sure you already know. Look for common hobby’s, location, occupation and so on. If you’re prospecting online, don’t mention business at all until you’ve built rapport with some back and forth messages, remember people join people, the company is always second. If you’re cold calling you of course don’t have this luxury of building rapport over time, but still I highly recommend only contacting people you can provide another reason on top of the fact you have an opportunity to talk about (examples in the audio below). Doing this allows you to keep your posture, makes for a much more pleasant conversation and you’ll get far better results.
